The drugs profiled within the cascade are imaginary; their listed side effects are not. Each side effect is approved for one or more prescription drugs in the US by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

*Side Effects* looks at the FDA and Big Pharma's role in perpetuating prescribing cascades in a society molded by increased expectations and diminished timelines.

Rather than invest in making current drugs safer, the work asks what happens when side effects are treated as symptoms and new drugs are sold and consumed to treat them.
